Abigail's best friends moved to Indonesia last week. We keep missing them on Skype because of the 11 hour time difference. I told her to take a quick bath and then we could see if we could talk to them before bed. She was sad she missed them, so I told her she could make another video for them.

The Zoo

Thanks Becky, Reece, and Joe for such a fun trip to the zoo. I don't think I would have taken both girls by myself.

Abigail had a great time!

Reece is always so sweet and patient with Abigail. She held her hand in the crowds to keep her safe!

Adalyn pretty much slept the whole time we were at the zoo!

Pumpkin Patch

We had great weather this morning for our trip to the pumpkin patch! Abigail was so excited to see so many friends and so many pumpkins!!

Joe is so sweet and wanted to hold Adalyn. It only lasted a second, but it was still cute!

We tried really hard for everyone to look and smile at the same time.

We were so glad we got to snap some pictures with Lyric!

These girls always know how to have fun together!!

We are so thankful the Lord has given us some extra time with the Perez family before they leave for Indonesia.

Adalyn Kathleen was born September 3, 2010 at 9:02 a.m.

She was 7 pounds 8 ounces and 20 inches long.

I was scheduled for an induction on September 3rd at 6:00 a.m. At around 1:00 a.m. I decided it was time to go the hospital because my contractions were starting to hurt and were coming closer together. We checked in around 3:00 and she was born 6 hours later.

So far she is an easy baby. She likes to eat and sleep. Abigail loves her little sister.

Abigail's cousins Crystal and Kylie have been spending extra time with us this summer and we love it!! Since I have to take it easy during my pregnancy they have been such a blessing. They help me run errands and go to the grocery store. We even went downtown to visit Adam at his office and have lunch with him.

Life has been a bit crazy, but here are some recent pictures of Abigail.

Grandma brought over a baby pool for Abigail, but I am thinking it's a little small. She doesn't really have room for her friends to swim with her. She kept calling it her tub.

She likes to pretend it is raining when we spray her with the hose.

Warmer Weather

We have loved the warmer weather this week! Evan and Abigail have enjoyed wagon rides and playing in the yard. They love riding in the wagon together. It's really cute how they look at each other and just laugh.

Uncle Bobby gave Abigail a golf set for Christmas. When we go outside she is always asking if she can play golf. Evan just wanted to run around in the grass. He didn't really care about the balls or the clubs.

We have a bunch of masks left over from Bobby's party. Abigail really likes wearing them and making Evan wear a mask, but Evan is not really a fan.

We also have a hat leftover from the party, so Abigail is really enjoying playing dress up in all the left over costumes.

My brother Bobby turned 30 this month, so we surprised him with a few friends and family for his birthday.

He was totally surprised, so it was fun!!

We thought it would be fun to dress up as super heroes for the party. Way before the party Abigail really wanted to wear her mask and cape. Notice she wanted Daddy to wear his mask while he ate lunch.

Abigail had so much fun at the party with all her cousins. Dalena also shared her ice cream and cake with Abigail, so she was super happy!

Crystal came as Sparkle Girl.

Uncle Troy had the best costume, but it turned out his extra large Spider Man costume was in youth sizes, so it was best that he didn't wear it long. :)

Merry Christmas

We had a busy week full of lots of Christmas celebrations. We spent Christmas Eve with the Nalley's in Magnolia. On the way to Magnolia Abigail read the Christmas story to herself. She loves reading about Baby Jesus. (When I say read, I mean she sings parts of Silent Night and talks about Baby Jesus as she looks at the pictures.)

We had a quiet morning at our house to celebrate Christmas. Adam read the Christmas story and then we had a yummy breakfast.

Abigail really likes her new tunnel she got from her Grandma. I am not sure how long the tent and tunnel are suppose to stay up in the living room. It doesn't really match the rest of the furniture, but Abigial loves it!

Abigail loved her stocking gifts. All she really needed was a granola bar, toothbrush, necklace, and bracelets.

After we opened presents at our house we headed over to my parents for more presents and more food.

My brother Bobby came over first. Troy came over later and David was on his way to Mexico to see his wife's family.

My dad was very excited about his new hedge trimmer, so he wanted it in the picture.

I can't believe Abigail and Atticus are both looking at the camera at the same time!

At 2:00 in the morning on December 26th we headed to Louisiana for more Nalley family Christmas. The plan was for Abigail to sleep the whole way there, but instead she just requested multiple snacks and never really slept. We were all very tired during our trip, but it was good to see family. Luckily we were able to sneak in a few naps.

Eventually Abigail will warm up to Alex, but it has not happened yet.

Abigail is really enjoying all the parts of Christmas this year. She loves the songs, Christmas lights, and Baby Jesus.

Abigail's favorite Christmas song is Silent Night. She is pretty good at the Holy Night, All is calm part. She started singing along with the music last night at dinner.

My Computer is Fixed!!!

My computer has had some problems, but after many long hours of my dad working on it everything is much better. For some reason I could not log into my blog or use google for the past couple of months. My dad came over several times and eventually found the problem.

Here are a few recent pictures of things going on around our house.

We had SNOW last week!! I thought it was lots of fun, but I am not sure how much Abigail liked playing in the snow. She was cold and getting wet, but we did get a few pictures of her. My brother gave Abigail a snow suit, so we thought it was a great chance for her to wear it. I am not sure if she will ever see snow again while she is this little.

I think Abigail was too busy looking at the snow falling on my head to look at the camera. It was fun to watch the snow cover our yard for the afternoon. I think it was the most snow I have ever seen fall in Houston.

We took Abigail to see Santa and Mrs. Claus, but she only wanted Mimi to hold her. She eventually warmed up to them and handed them a candy cane, but she didn't want to get super close. She loves to point out all the Santa statues she sees, but the real Santa made her a little nervous.

Abigail loves her babies and insisted on holding her babies while we took her picture.

This is my 10 hour project I did with my mother-in-law. My sweet mother-in-law did most of the work. Maybe next time I will have the courage to do more of the actual sewing.

Abigail's New Friend

This weekend we went to visit my friend Katie and her family. Katie and I have been friends since first and second grade, so it was so neat to finally hold her little girl. Ellie is about 12 weeks old, so I have been patiently waiting to meet her. My camera battery died, so I didn't get a ton of pictures, but here are a few. It was hard to get Abigail and Ellie to look at the camera at the same time. Abigail was very excited about baby Ellie. When Ellie was napping or nursing in the other room Abigail was always talking about Ellie and wondering why she wasn't playing with her.

When we came home we spent time playing outside with Atticus. Abigail really missed her dog while we were away. Abigail also got some new tennis shoes, and she LOVES them. She likes to wear them all the time. I like them because it takes a lot more effort for her to take them off in the backseat.

We had a great weekend with friends. I wish I had gotten a picture of Ellie with her Mommy and Daddy. We also saw our sweet friends Jen and Jake. Next time I will have to take more pictures with all of Abigail's friends.

17 Months Update

Abigail is learning new words and skills each day! It's so fun to watch her grow and change!! She has always made lots of noise, but her noises are turning into more real words that we can understand. She recognizes almost all of her friends and calls them by name. She is giving us more hugs and kisses each day. She used to reserve most of her hugs and kisses for Atticus, so we are thrilled that her Mommy and Daddy are getting as much love as Atticus. She is learning the names and noises of basic zoo and farm animals. She also does little motions to some of them like the snake, elephant, and monkey.

Trip to Mexico

August has been such a busy month. Adam finished the bar the last week of July, and we celebrated by going on vacation to Mexico for a week. We had a wonderful trip! We spent most of our time relaxing on the beach and reading. It was a good break for both of us. It was our first time to be away from Abigail for more than a day, so we really missed her. I loved my time with my husband on the beach, but I was ready to come home and hold by baby after six days without her.

She had a blast with her grandparents and didn't miss at all, but she was super excited to see us on Sunday. It melted my heart when she ran to the door shouting, "Mommy!! Daddy!!"

We ate lunch by the ocean everyday. On my birthday we watched the sunset while we ate dinner. It was a great trip!!

I was so excited to hold my baby when we came home! I was trying to get a picture of her new Mexican dress, but she only wanted to stay in my arms.

Adam took a break from studying and testing today to have dinner with us. Abigail was excited to see her Daddy, but she was way more excited about the park. I could not get the little girl to stay still for more than a second for a picture. Most pictures were of me chasing her. She was very busy, but she did have a good time with her Daddy. Today was the short day of testing. He only tested until around noon. Tomorrow and Thursday he will test all day!! Pray that he is able to sleep well and remember all the information he studied. He has worked so hard, and we are so proud of him!!

Adam has spent the last two months studying really hard for his Bar Exam. I can't believe it's finally here! I know Adam is so ready for this to all be over, but he only has a few more days! He will take the Bar Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. Friday I am hoping he will just sleep and rest because he hasn't done much sleeping this summer.

Abigail's good friends Reece and Joe have been gone for almost a month. They are in Idaho learning about how to prepare for their new life in Indonesia. They will be back in September while they raise support, and then they will be off to Indonesia sometime in 2010. We miss you guys!! We can't wait to see you in another month or so!! 15 Month Update

My little girl is growing!! She had her 15 month check up this week and she is a big 20 pounds 8 ounces. She has gained about 2 pounds in three months. This week she started cutting four teeth so she's been a little fussy and didn't want to eat much earlier in the week, but I think it's getting better. The four new teeth give her a total of 12 teeth for her little mouth.

One of her new favorite things is her kitchen set. Her cousin Dalena out grew this kitchen and gave it to Abigail. She LOVES it!! Also notice her new purse from her Grandma. She walks around with it on her shoulder. I think it's pretty cute!

Atticus gets the most hugs out of anyone at our house.

A Busy Day!!

Abigail's sweet friend Evan invited her to go to the Children's Museum today. They have a great room upstairs for little babies. Abigail loved it!! The room is filled with balls and lots of space to run and play. She also really liked driving the little cars.

When we came home Abigail made sure she gave Atticus lots of attention!! She gives Atticus hugs all day long. They love each other so much!!

Abigail also LOVES chairs! She loves to sit in her booster seat. The moment you put her in this little seat she is so happy. She is constantly going to her chair and saying "Up! Up! Up!"

She is also showing you all 8 of her teeth in this picture. She is normally too busy to get a good smile for a picture, but her little chair just makes her so happy!

This weekend Adam celebrated his second Father's Day with his sweet baby girl!! Abigail loves her Daddy so much!!

Today we got to play in the water with some great friends. Thanks Becky for inviting us to go swimming with you guys. Becky's neighborhood has the coolest pool for kids. A big part of it is only a foot deep, so it's great for Abigail.

Fun with Friends!!

Abigail and I have been spending time with sweet friends! Last week we got to see our friend Katie. Tomorrow she is going to have Baby Ellie, and we are so excited!! Katie was super nice to let us stay with her for a few days so close to her due date!!

We also got to play with Reece and Joe. Becky and Daniel are packing up their whole house, so I went over to help pack a few boxes. It's hard to get three kids to look and smile all at the same time, but this was the best picture. Abgial likes to sit in Joe's lap, but I could never catch it on the camera.

Abigail is learning what to do with crayons. She plays with them more than she colors on the paper. She also likes the crayon box just as much as the coloring.

Today our friend Jade came over to play, and the girls have so much fun together. Abigail follows Jade around, and they love to make each other laugh.

The lighting from the window isn't the best, but their giggles are so fun to hear!

Splash Pad

Today was Abigail's first trip to the splash pad. We don't have one in our neighborhood, but our sweet friends invited us to go with them. Reece loves to run and play in the water, but Abigail is still not super sure how she feels about the water spraying her.

Abigail thought Joe needed to wear Reece's sunglasses, but he was not very excited about the pink glasses!

Joe was such a good boy in the stroller. He had fun watching Abigail and Reece run around in the water.

The car was Abigail's favorite place to play. It was also a safe dry place away from the spraying water.

Happy Graduation!!

After three years of hard work Adam has finally graduated from Law School!! YEAH!! We are so excited and proud of his super hard work!! We celebrated with some friends and family last weekend at Adam's parents' house. It was nice for Adam to spend some time relaxing between finals and studying for the Bar. He was back in class early Monday morning for his Bar Review class. He takes the Bar at the end of July, so he still feels like he is in school.

Abigail is sooo proud of her Daddy!!

The graduation ceremony was during Abigail's nap time and she thought it was a little long. She spent most of the time walking around the foyer with Aunt Megan and her Grandparents.

On Saturday Abigail got to splash around in the pool with her friends. Jade was so good, and she kept her hat on the whole time!!

Reece was very happy taking the water from the pool and watering all the plants.

We were so glad John and his parents came to celebrate with us!!

Abigail missed another nap during the party. Her Grandpa rocked with her in the swing while she was waiting for her dinner. I think she also enjoyed eating the cup!

My brothers and nieces were super sweet to come celebrate with us!

Reece loves playing with her Daddy. He took her to see the big catfish in the pond. I think all the kids loved watching them come up to eat the fish food.

Mawmaw came in from Lousiana, so on Sunday we spent the day letting her play with Abigail. Thanks Mawmaw for coming to visit us!!

It got a little chilly on Sunday so we didn't swim very long. I was really cold, but Abigail just wanted to float in the little green intertube. Everytime I would take her out she would try to get back in it. We eventually took her out because when the wind would blow I could tell she was cold.

Abigail is a full time walker! She is very busy exploring her new world!! It's also hard to get a good picture because she is always on the move.

Happy Mother's Day

This morning we went to church with my family for Mother's Day. I think my mom likes showing Abigail off to her friends! We went back to my parents for lunch after church. It was nice not having to cook or clean all day!!

My brother Bobby was also at church and lunch. Abigail had fun playing with her Uncle Bobby.

Can you tell she was trying pull out her ponytail? Her hair is getting long, but she doesn't like bows or anything in her hair. As long as she doesn't know it's there it's fine, but as soon as she realizes I put something in her hair it is out and in her mouth. I was shocked when we picked her up from the church nursery because she still had her ponytail and both shoes on her feet. I think she was so busy playing she didn't notice them.

Abigail let Mommy take a nice long nap after church for my Mother's Day present. A guilt free two hour nap is worth more than anything she could have bought me! After our nap we went to visit Adam's family. Adam stayed home to study for his finals, so I took Abigail for a swim at Grammie's house. She had fun splashing in the water.

She is finally big enough to turn around and face forward in her big girl car seat. It's a whole new world sitting this way. I think she really likes it. It's also nice because because the air conditioning hits her face so much better now. It will be better on those hot summer days.

Abigail spends a lot of her day playing and hugging on Atticus. While I am getting dinner ready the two of them sit and look out the front window waiting for Daddy to come home. They are pretty cute together!!

Abigail had to go back to the doctor yesterday for a weight check. She was not gaining weight like the doctor wanted, so we had to work on giving her higher calorie foods. She has been eating eggs with heavy whipping cream, full fat yogurt, and lots of cheese. She is not a super big eater, but she has gained weight. She weighs 20 pounds!! She gained two pounds in one month. Abigail is finally growing out of her 6-9 month clothes.

She also has not had any allergic reactions to any foods!! YEAH!! She was sooo sensitive her first six months, but I think she has grown out of all her sensitivities. She has not had any problems eating dairy or soy. We did some lab work yesterday, so we will know for sure today or Monday if everything is okay.

Abigail is really making progress today with her walking. Earlier this morning she stood up all on her own and walked over to her friend Evan to give him a big hug. She is feeling much more confident!! Way to go Abigail!!

Last Wednesday Abigail decided to take her first steps all by herself. She was a little nervous, but I could tell she was really proud of herself. She still prefers crawling because it is so much faster.

Abigail also has some very funny dance moves. They are sometimes hard to catch on video, but here are a couple of her favorite moves. She cracks us up when she gets her arms moving too, but she doesn't always perform on demand.

Fun with Reece and Joe

Becky and Daniel had a date night this weekend, so we got to watch Reece and Joe. We had so much playing together. Abigail spends lots of time with my friend's baby named Evan, so calls most babies Evan. We finally got Abigail to say "Oh Joe!" as she was giving him a hug. Reece also made up a song about how much she loves Abigail. It was too cute. I was getting dinner ready, and she was playing on drum while singing about lovin' Abigail.

Reece wanted to go on an Easter egg hunt with some leftover eggs she found in the dining room. Reece was excited because some of the eggs had some stickers in them from Easter.

Today was a beautiful today, so we took the kids to the zoo. Abigail's favorite part might have been driving to the zoo. She got to sit in the backseat with Reece. She laughed and babbled the whole way to the zoo. She had so much to tell her friend Reece. Here is Abigail and Reece ready to see some animals!!

We had a nice picnic lunch in the grass during our visit. It was a nice quiet break from the very crowded paths at the zoo.

Joe was such a good boy, but he got so tired towards the end of our visit. He fell asleep in Becky's pouch as we were walking out of the zoo. Abigail slept most of the way home and then took a nice long nap when we got home. She was super tired.

Happy Easter

Luke 24:46-47 "Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem."

Today we are so thankful for the truth of God's word. We are thankful that Christ suffered for us and on the third day He rose again to forgive us of our sins!!

We spent the morning at church celebrating God's goodness. After church we had some family over for Easter lunch. It was raining, so we had Abigial hunt for eggs inside. She doesn't really know to look for the eggs. We ended up just handing the eggs to her. She really likes to shake the eggs and eat the Cheerios.

Yesterday we had an Easter egg hunt and picnic with our friends at church. We had to show Abigail where to find the eggs because she was not sure what to do.

She was trying to put the eggs in her basket, but she would get super distracted by all the other children.

Jade, Reece, and Abigail would not look at the camera, but I think they look pretty cute sitting on the step together.

There is a chance Jade was protecting her basket from Abigial. Especially because Jade had way more eggs!!

I love this picture of Abigial and her Daddy. It looks like Abigail is really listening to whatever her Daddy is saying.

Abigail is feeling much better. She only has a few more days left of her breathing treatments. YEAH!! Today was a beautiful day, and Adam was working in the backyard. I decided to let Abigail crawl around in the backyard. She puts EVERYTHING in her mouth, so I don't really like her to be in dirty places. Of course she tried to put grass, dirt, and leaves in her mouth, but she also had lots of fun crawling around. She is always on the move, so it's harder and harder to get her to smile for the camera.

My Baby is Sick

Abigail started coughing a little bit this weekend, and I thought it was just allergies. As her cough worsened, I decided to take her to the doctor. It turned out she has bronchitis. She needs four breathing treatments a day, and they take about 10-15 minutes each time. She fights them a little bit, but for the most part she stays pretty still. She is such a trooper! Adam even came home early today, so he could help with her afternoon treatment. Hopefully in a few days her cough will be gone. She already sounds a little better.

Spring Break

We enjoyed our very last spring break with Adam. Tyler came over one afternoon, so we loaded up the little ones and took them to the park. We also worked in the yard and planted some new flowers. Abigail and Atticus were both very helpful!! Yesterday we went with some friends to take pictures in the bluebonnets. I took one picture of Abigail and Reece and my camera battery died. I was so sad. It was fun having great weather all week!! We will miss Adam when he goes back to school on Monday.

Abigail's new favorite trick is to climb inside the bumbo. She thinks it is fun until she gets stuck and cannot get out on her own.

We spent the weekend in Louisiana celebrating Adam's Grandmother's 80th Birthday. Everyone loves Mawmaw and it showed with over 100 friends and family attending her special birthday party. The party was during Abigail's nap time, but we kept her entertained with lots of family and balloons!!

Zoo Trip

Abigail went to the zoo for the first time this week. It was a beautiful day and the zoo was packed with kids on spring break. It took a very long time to find a parking place, but once we were parked Abigail enjoyed her picnic lunch and time at the zoo. We pointed out different animals to her, but I think she was more interested in watching all the people.

Abigail is eleven months old! I can't believe she will be a year old in only a month.

Here are some videos of her new skills. She LOVES to feed herself. Blueberries are very messy, but they are one of her favorite finger foods. She also thinks playing Peek-A-Boo is very funny.

Everyday she goes a little farther with her stroller. She started pushing it on her knees, but now she can stand up and take a few steps with it.

Last week our small group had a missionary couple over for dinner. They are hoping to move to Asia soon, so we decided to make them some Chinese food and dress up our kids in Chinese clothes. Our sweet friends the Changs brought back some Chinese outfits from one of their trips to China last year. I was trying to get John, Jade, Jasmine, and Abigail to all look at the camera, but I think that was asking too much! Reece had already outgrown her Chinese outfit and little Joe was too little. I think they looked pretty cute!!

Monday was Adam's last day off from school. It was a beautiful day so we took my niece Crystal, Atticus, and Abigail to the Arboretum. It was a nice way to spend our last day of Adam's Christmas break. We were very spoiled to have him home with us for so long. This is his last semester of law school!! YEAH!! This semester will be a little lighter so we are hoping to be able to spend more time with him.

Nine Month Update

Abigail had her nine month check up this week. I was worried she had not gained enough weight since she is still wearing some pants that are for 3-6 month babies. She pretty much wears all 6 month babies clothes, but the doctor said her weight is okay. She weighs 17 pounds and 10 ounces. She is still anemic, so we have to increase her iron supplements even more, but she is a trooper when she takes her medicine. She used to throw a big fit, but now she knows it is just something that we do daily.

Today was a beautiful day, so we all went to the park. Abigail had fun riding around in her stroller. The park was full of kids, and Abigail loves to watch other people.

In the past few weeks she finally figured out how to drink out of her sippy cup. She really likes to drink out of it, but I think she does more playing than drinking.

This was only her second time in a swing and I am not sure how much she enjoyed swinging.

Abigail's First Christmas

We spent Christmas Eve with Adam's family. Abigail had lots of fun with her family and opening her first Christmas gifts. She was a little slow and really enjoyed the paper and bows more than the actual presents.

We had a quiet Christmas morning together at home. It was fun watching her open more presents. She got a warm hat and sun glasses. I think she looks pretty cute in both!!

We had more family over for Christmas Day dinner. Abigail got more presents from my family. She also really liked spending time with Uncle Bobby.

After Christmas we visited Adam's Mawmaw in Lousiana. It was Abigail's first big trip. We drove through the night so Abigail could sleep. She did a great job sleeping. Adam and his dad did a great job staying awake and driving. We got home in the middle of the night last night, but thankfully Abigail slept until almost 10:00 this morning. We got to catch up on the sleep we missed during the night. We had a great Christmas!!

Texas Children's Hospital

Today was a very busy day for Abigail. She had an appointment at Texas Children's Hospital to have some testing done. Her doctor wanted to run some tests to make sure she didn't have a urinary reflux problem. She didn't like the catheter testing at all. She was screaming so loud it was hard to hear what the doctor was saying. I don't think she was in pain. I think she was screaming because she didn't want to be held down for so long. As soon as that was over I nursed her and she was much better. She also had an ultrasound on her kidneys. She was a pretty happy baby during the ultrasound. She even smiled a couple of times. The doctor at Texas Children's said that everything looked normal and she just had a one time infection! Praise God that our little one doesn't have to continue the yucky medicine and testing!!

On our way to our car she even got to visit with Santa. He was there visiting the boys and girls in the hospital. I thought she might scream when I put her on Santa's lap because she had such a crazy afternoon and really needed a nap, but she was okay.

It was neat to see all the Christmas things they were doing for the children. So many families have to spend so much time with their little ones in the hospital. I am so thankful for having such a healthy baby. It is easy to take our health for granted, but the Lord reminded me to be truly thankful for the blessing of good health.

Abigail is 8 months old today! She is also very excited about Christmas. She thinks the Christmas tree and presents are very interesting. There are so many things to look at and grab. She really likes the bows on the Christmas presents. They are probably way more exciting than anything that could be inside the box.

Abigail is working really hard at crawling. She can get her bottom up in the air and move her hands a little in front of her before rolling over. She is very busy rolling around on the floor while she plays.

Abigail loves playing on the floor with all her toys. She is becoming much more mobile. She spins herself around on her belly and is trying really hard to crawl. She also tries to pull up on everything she can reach. Abigail has had a friend over this week, and she is working hard to share her toys. The most exciting toy is always the one her friend is holding.

Abigail would really like to use this basket to pull up, but it just won't work.

For some reason the hair in the middle is much longer than the rest of her hair. Her daddy thinks it is pretty funny to make it stick up in the air after her bath.

Abigail is all better from her urinary tract infection, but we still have to do more testing to make sure it's not a reflux problem. We will go to Texas Children's for some testing in mid December. Until then she has to take some yucky medicine to make sure the infection does not return.

Seven Months

Abigail is Seven Months Old!!

On Friday we took Abigail to meet her new friend Joseph. He was all dressed up for Halloween with a very cute pumpkin outfit. Joseph is such a sweet little boy!

Abigail has been very sick this week, but she is doing much better! We spent many hours at the doctor and lab this week. She has had lots of shots and lots of blood tests. Today is our first day this week that we don't have to go to the doctor or lab. She slept much better last night and is much happier today. Praise God for healing my little baby's infection. We go back to he doctor again next week. When the infection is all gone we will do more tests to see what caused her to be so sick. Today she has been busy playing and being her happy self again! I am so thankful she is feeling better!!

Joseph Mitchel Perez was born October 29, 2008 at 7:24 pm. Becky did great and is so glad she chose to have him at a birthing center. He came super fast and early, but he was ready because this little guy weighs 9 pounds 11 ounces. Becky kept telling me she thought she was having a big baby!

Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday we took our cute little Pumpkin to the Fall Festival at church.
Reece was a very cute Minnie Mouse. Baby Perez will be here soon! We can't wait to meet the new baby!!

Dalena had fun at the Fall Festival. Abigail watched her cousin play lots of games.

Today we went to the Pumpkin Patch at my parent's church. It was a pretty chilly morning. I don't think Abigail has ever really felt cold weather before, so this was a new experience.

Weekend with Mawmaw

This weekend Adam's family came to visit Abigail. She had lots of fun meeting so many new relatives. Here is a picture of Adam's dad, Abigail, Mawmaw, and Adam.

Atticus is Abigail's favorite. Notice the handful of skin and hair she is pulling. Atticus does not mind if she pulls his hair or ears. He even lets her poke him in the eye. He just loves the attention she gives him. He likes to be right beside her when she is playing on the floor.

We got a call from Nurse Becky at Dr. Ramsey's office. Abigail's lab work came back with great news!! It looks like she has outgrown her food allergies!! Praise the Lord!! I really thought she would have issues forever. I am very grateful, and I have really enjoyed drinking milk and eating cheese again!!

The Park

On Friday morning we took Abigail to our neighborhood park. It was fun to watch her laugh while she was swinging.

Last week the doctor gave me the okay to start eating dairy and soy again. So far I think her system is handling it just fine. We will do some lab work next week to double check to make sure she has not had any negative reactions to the dairy and soy. I am having to give her even more iron supplements because she continues to be anemic. The doctor also wants her to gain more weight. She only gained one pound in the last two months. We will check her blood and weight in a month. Hopefully we can add a little bit more weight to this little girl.

Dalena had a very fun Princess Birthday Party this weekend. I can't believe my little niece is already four years old! She was very busy at her party playing with all her friends. We really enjoyed being outside because it was such a beautiful day. Abigail also liked playing with her cousins and uncles. Uncle Bobby loved spending the day with his four nieces! Can you believe Crystal is in Middle School this year? She is almost as tall as her Aunt Amanda!

Grandma really enjoyed spending extra time with all her Grandaughters.

It took all three brothers and my dad to make sure the pinata was high enough for all the kids to get a good swing.

Dalena was the first to swing at Cinderalla. I also want to thank my good friend Dr. Griffin for driving all the way to our house to give Atticus his check-up and a shot. She is such a good friend. Atticus was a very good patient for Sarah. He made me proud! He was just so excited someone came over to give him some extra love and attention.

Today Abigail is six months old! She has two teeth and loves to sit up to play. Her favorite foods this week are oatmeal and peas. Monday we will go for her six months check-up. I am praying that she has outgrown her food allergies! I think the doctor will allow me to slowly start eating different foods. I am a little scared about eating dairy or soy again. If she hasn't outgrown her allergies it will take a month for her system to heal. My baby is so sensitive!!! The good news is that Abigail did not have to see the doctor for two whole months. The first four months of her life we went to the doctor every 2 or 3 weeks. We haven't gone one time since her four month check-up! I did have to call in a prescription for her sensitive skin, but we did not have to see the doctor. I think she is getting tougher!!

This Weekend

We went to Adam's parents Saturday to watch the A&M game. Adam was so excited for her to wear her A&M T-Shirt and hat. The hat is still a little too big, but it didn't bother her. She was happy to spend the day with Uncle Drew, Grandpa, and Grandma!

Abigail LOVES Atticus!! She loves to play with him. Atticus always makes Abigial smile and laugh.

Home Sweet Home

We are so thankful to finally be back home!! We lost power for 10 days because of Hurricane Ike. We didn't have any damage to our house, and Adam was able to clean up the yard in a couple of days. God has blessed us with wonderful friends and family who took care of us. Becky and Daniel even let us bring our dog to their house for three nights!! My parents got their power back today, but Adam's parents are still without power. They stayed the night with us tonight, and they are so hopeful that their power will return tomorrow. Overall we are so lucky that the only thing we lost was power. I wasn't able to work since our home didn't have power. Abigail and I enjoyed spending so much extra time together.

We went on lots of walks together during the cool mornings.

Adam also got to spend extra time with us!!

Abigail is sitting up like a champ!! The Littles were so kind to let us spend the weekend with them. They made us breakfast both mornings. Abigail and Jasmine had lots of fun playing together. It was cute to watch them sit and look at one another. Thanks for sharing your toys Jazzy!

Uncle Drew spent the weekend with us too! He didn't have any power or hot water, so we talked him into staying with us. I was hoping we could offer him a nice cool place to stay, but since we didn't have power the Littles let Drew stay at their house, too. We have great friends!!

Abigail was so happy tonight to spend time with her Grandparents. Her Grandad read her some stories before she went to bed. It was a treat for both of them!

Labor Day Weekend

We took Abigail swimming for the second time. She likes it a lot better if we take her out of her floatie and carry her around with us. Baby girl is getting so big! Today she is five months old, and she is getting her first tooth.

Four Month Check-Up

We went to the doctor this week for Abigail's four month check-up. I was very excited because her lab results came back with good news. It took her a month to heal from my silly meal that I ate in July. She weighs 14.4 pounds and is 25 and 3/4 inches long. Abigail was very brave during all her pokes. Nurse Becky had to draw blood to check her iron levels and give her some shots. Becky makes me cover Abigail's eyes because she doesn't want Abigail to remember that her friend Becky gave her the shots. My guess is she has already forgotten all about the shots. My doctor told me to start trying solid foods sometime between now and her 6th month appointment. I sent Adam to the store to pick up her high chair on his way home from school yesterday. She likes sitting in her new chair. She tries to eat the straps because she wants to put anything and everything in her mouth.

On Saturday Abigail turned four months old! Everyday we have lots of fun together. She is laughing more and smiles all the time. I think she is getting better at taking longer naps, but everyday is still a little different. Last night I fed her around 10:30, and she slept until 6:00 this morning. I fed her at 6:00 and she acted like she wanted to play, but I was able to rock her back to sleep. We both went back to sleep for a couple more hours. I was very thankful for two more hours of sleep. I was not ready to play that early in the day. We go back to the lab this week, so we are praying that her system is all healed from that silly meal I ate on July 2nd!! My doctor has been very supportive and keeps encouraging me to continue to breastfeed and just monitor my diet.

Casey is spending the week with us while her parents are in Colorado. Atticus is really loving having extra attention from his friend!! They play together in the backyard, but they really just want to hang out with the people all day long. Casey loves to lay as close as she can to your feet. She loves to cuddle!

This weekend we took Abigail to her grandparents' to go swimming. I think she liked the water, but it was hard to tell. We only floated around for a little bit because it started to rain.
Abigail loves to play on the floor. She entertains herself by talking and making all kinds of noises.
Abigail enjoys playing with this book. It reads her the pages, lights up, and plays music!!
Abigail loves her jumper. She doesn't really know how to jump in it, but she can wiggle and make it light up and sing to her. I have to put a towel under her feet because she can't touch the floor yet, but it's still lots of fun!!

Abigail keeps growing! We are having so much fun together!! We had to go back to the doctor again this week because of Abigail's food allergy. Adam and I went to dinner, and I was told that there was not any butter or soy in my food, but the next day Abigail was very sick. She seems to be getting better, but she is not back to her normal self yet. I will not be eating at any restaurants for a very long time because you just never know what might be in your food. We were really hoping she was growing out of her food allergies, but it is very evident that she is still very sensitive to some foods. Even though she was sick, she never stopped smiling!!
I think she looks so cute in her little chair.
Uncle David turned the big 44!! Dalena was way more excited about the presents and cake than her Daddy.
Adam enjoyed his long weekend at home with Abigail. They spent lots of time playing together. Abigail loves her Daddy!!

Last weekend we celebrated Adam's first Father's Day. We had a very busy day with family. Abigail was a tropper as we spent time with my family on Saturday and Adam's family on Sunday.Happy Father's Day to my Dad!! Here is Abigail with all her wonderful cousins!! Dalena, Kylie, and Crystal all love playing with Abigail.
I think she looks like such a big girl here! She is 12 weeks old on Wednesday. Adam assures me she is still small, but she is growing out of her all her newborn clothes. There was a four day old baby at the doctor's office this week, and she made Abigail look gigantic.

Today while I was working at the computer Abigail decided to do some scooting. She was laying on her blanket and looking up at her toys. She was talking and making all kinds of noises behind me. Abigail was very happy during her first week check-up! She has gained all her birth weight back plus one more ounce. She is 8 pounds 4 ounces! The doctor said she is doing great!!
Adam's mom went with us to the doctor. Grandma was very excited that she got to spend the day with Abigail.

She's Finally Here!!

Tuesday night Adam and I decided to go to the hospital and wait for the next room to become available for an induction. The hospital had promised that I would be able to get a room that night, but every time we called they told us to just keep waiting. We got to the hospital at 10:30 that night, and by 1:30 the next morning they came and told us they had a room. By 1:04 the next afternoon we had a beautiful baby girl. She weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces, and she was 21 inches long! We love her!!

We're Still Waiting!!

Abigail has decided to take her time coming into this world. My doctor thought she would have been here by Easter weekend, but she is still not here. Doctor Norton even tried to induce me on Friday, but there were not any rooms available for elective inductions. Abigial just keeps getting bigger, and there are not any openings for inductions until next Thursday. That will be nine days after my due date. My doctor may try to squeeze me in for an induction late on Tuesday night, but it is not for sure because I am on the waiting list. Hopefully she will be here soon!

We're Ready!

Here I am with 2 and a half weeks to go! We finally finished putting Abigail's room together!!
Adam's mom made the curtains, lampshade, chair cushions, and pillows! We are thankful for all her hard work!!
